National Museum in Luang Prabang, the former Royal Palace. It was built in 1904 for the King SisaVang Vong and his family. On the left side, the Ho Pra Bang to house the Pra Bang Buddha Statue and to keep a collection of the palace’s most prized art.

Phousi Mount, located in center of the town, in front of the Former Royal Palace. A climb of 328 steps is worth for panoramic view of the town.

Vat Mai is one of the most important temples in Luang Prabang. This vat held the Pra Bang Buddha Statue from 1894 until 1947. Its golden bas-relief facade tells the story of Phravet San Done, one of the last reincarnations of the Buddha.

That Mak Mo (Watermelon Stupa) in Wat Visoun was built in 1515 by King Visounnalath’s wife.

Next door to Vat Visoun is Vat Aham. It was built by King Manthatourath of Luang Prabang Kingdom (1817-1836), probably in 1818 to host the residence of Pra Sangkharat (the Supreme Patriach of Lao Buddhism) at that time. Inside the sim, there are lots of impressive Buddha Statues.

Vat Xieng Thong is a very old temple, located in a beautiful garden on the Mekong River bank where the Nam Khan River runs into it. It was built in 1560 by King Setthathirat before moving the capital of Lanexang Kingdom to Vientiane.
